Sharon Wyman is a half-Swede, who attributes her very being to the Chicago Fire of October 8, 1871. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and currently lives on Cape Cod with her husband Bob, their beagle Annie, and a cat named Calvin.
Wyman has traveled to every state in the Union, except for Idaho; ridden an elephant; and danced around the Maypole in Stockholm, during Midsummer celebrations. She also has an identical twin.
Since childhood, Wyman has listened to stories about her great-grandmother, Emmy Carlsson Evald. But it was not until she relocated to Chicago, where Evald grew up, that her interest in family history blossomed.
She has a collection of Evald’s personal papers, scrapbooks, and photographs. More importantly, she has the inside scoop from family members who knew Evald best.
